Bummer luck. I'm just chimming in to applaud your effort in trying to find that deer. It would have been easy to write it off after finding no blood. Better luck next time. I love my bodoodle pro lite rest.

On the second Saturday of our season I had a mature doe right in front of me looking at a dead deer shot earlier that afternoon. Instead of standing I decided to take the shot sitting to eliminate movement. When drawed, I checked to see if the cam of the bow was going to hit the front of the climber. Knowing it would be close I elected to take the shot. Well, the bow almost jumped from my hand when the cam stuck the stand, and all cables and strings unstrung. I thought I had busted my bow but good. From further inspections I found that nothing was damaged (but my pride) but I did have to get the archery store owner to open the next morning (Sunday) so I would be back in business by that afternoon. So I guess I know how you felt. Sorry for the deer loss. Would have been better it your episode ended as mine, missing the deer. This way you would still have a chance at the deer. Forget about the deer and hunt for another, just remember the mistake.

Again thanks all. Frank you are right, If a broadhead would have "failed" I would never live it down! LOL I should make it clear, I am not condeming the Zero effect rest, it is possible that I did still hit the bar on the tree stand, and that could have caused the slide to break? Not really sure, but once I have something like that happen, my confidence goes out the window. The good news is my bow is back up and running. My confidence in it now is very high, my shooting is back up to spec and I am ready once again. Lets hope this weekend goes better!

Those things can happen sometimes, no matter how well prepared we are. Sorry, but feel confident the deer is probably ok.
Btw, the only reason I sold my Summit and won't use any stand, no matter what brand, with a surrounding bar is because of the bar. Thats why I recently bought a Lone Wolf climber and really like it.
Its not what you don't have, its what you have that counts!
