I've heard from Len and others that for accuracy, there is no beating longer ATA's, and I would figure heavier bows would be heavier for accuracy too. But they keep coming out with light, short ATA bows. What's the deal with that?
Doug,A 37" ATA w/ 8" brace height and 4.3lbs (Old Glory)and 40" ATA w an 8.25" brace height and 4.5lbs??(Constitution)Those 2 along with a mid length bow with an long riser at 34" (Allegiance)but feels and acts like a much longer bow at 4.1lbsThe newest hunting bow(Tribute) is basically the same dimensions 4.1 lbs but 31.5" ATA due to a 53 degree limb angle........this isn't a 31.5" bow with a tiny riser and conventional limb angles. Neither the Allegiance or the Tribute will give the shooter any feeling whatsoever of shooting a "Shorty" bow. If these bows had conventional limb angles they'd probably be close to the 40" ATA bows of a few years ago.Heck I shot a 318 IBO score in a very tough 3D tourney this season with my 34" Allegiance, only course I "Cleaned" all year and the bow was basically my hunting set-up. Matt Bressler won the IBO National Triple Crown with a 34" Allegiance and he shoots 40+ yards all day long.My point is that they don't behave like the Mighty Mite / Tech 29 style short ATA bows. The Equalizer is purposely lighter and shorter to help the short draw, low draw weight crowd.......most likelythis 3.5lb bow will compliment this type shooter than a 4+lb model. Someone who can only draw 30lbs most likely isn't going to be in love with a heavier bow.

New short draw, high performance model called the Equalizer.....302 IBO speeds at 26.5" and 60#! It will be available from 23-26.5" and 20-60# and only weigh 3.5 lbs. This is no kids bow........it's a true adult big boy bow for the short draw length , low draw weight crowd.[/blockquote]

If these numbers hold true I will be shocked. I get 275 fps out of my Patriot and that is at 27"..........this would add almost 30 fps at 1/2" shorter draw.

I hope those are right.........I really saw nothing from Bowtech last year worth considering replacing my Patriot. This will get a close look from me this year.
Atlas......remember 302 is the TOP END IBO speed of the advertised range and that's at 60# with a 300gr arrow and the highest draw length setting of 26.5" That's the best possible number shooting at exactly 5grs lb.

Not sure if you are considering all that or not.
In any event it's a rocket for a light draw / short draw length style bow.

It really looks like they have a bow to fill just about every niche. I am glad to see that they consolidated the lineup somewhat and just went with adjustments on the cams. Now the question is which bow(s) to order? A Tribute for hunting and an Allegiance for 3D? An Allegiance for hunting and an Old Glory for 3D? How about a Tomkat for hunting and a Constitution for 3D?

Decisions...decisions.....

I knew it wouldn't be long until JeffB showed up!

Right now I'm leaning towards a 29" @ 80lb Tribute with the fast cam.

Now look who goes and shows up.... Somehow I just knew that once the 2006 bow threads started to develop then somebody would throw in his two cents...

Nice to see you back Jeff.

So what is it going to be for you? I thought I once had your preferences pegged but you threw me for a loop with that Switchback purchase last year. What is it going to be? My guess is the Tribute despite the shorter axle to axle length. You never could resist a new design and those 53 degree limbs are callin' ya.

heyy Frank....Just popped in when I saw it mentioned in some email chatter this morning about Pat's B-day....so thot I'd come over and see what was up..first time I've been here in weeks..I haven't even THOUGHT about a bow lately

Honestly...no clue...I got a Check-MateAtilla nearly 2 months ago along with some custom strings from Chad (Thanks Buddy, gorgeous strings!), thatI have not even shot yet...don't own anything else...just cannot find/make the time these days to shoot between work (busiest time of year for me), and my son...when I do get time to shoot which is usually Sunday, the shop/range is closed...

Hope all is well! Good luck to everyone this season! Our season opened a few days back...I had no clue...days go by in the blink of an eye lately [:@]

Has anyone else but me did the math on the K.E. concerning the Equalizer bow?? At 60/26.5 and 300 grains at 302 fps,,,,,,, that's over 60.7 foot pounds of K.E.!!!
