So who wants to hear about the 2006 Bowtech "Tribute" ??

Greg,
Gimme a break man I was actually getting the hands bloody last night.
(Big doe)
I did miss your question though.
This is the most extreme parallel limb angled bow Bowtech has ever made obviously with a 53 degree pocket.
Compatible presses were an issue with a 40 degree limb pocket angle so you do the math.
As technology changes so will the equipment to work on them.
The new the Sure Loc "X" press and some others like the Apple Hydraulic will work.
Actually "Walks With a Gimp"'s "Bowmender press will work very well......that's what I have and for the $$ it's the best portable out there IMO.
It certainly won't take much pressure or travel to relax the limbs but you definitely will need the proper press. (One that presses by bringing thelimb ends together.)
So to answer your question in a nutshell I don't think you'd have a prayer of pressing a Tribute properly in an old Apple press.

Atlas, just like past years every model has an advertised "Speed Range" if the bow doesn't shoot within that range then it does not ship.
There's approx an 8fps range so the Equalizer's range at max specs is 294-302fps.
Everyone is latching onto the highest possible number in that range which is 302.
A shipped bow might actually make 302 at 26.5" /60#/ 300gr arrow, but it is also within specs if one ships at 296fps. Most fall around the middle of the advertised speed range, so 298 is realistic for most bows out the door.
So no it's not going to shoot 275-280 at those specs, it will if you trying to shoot say a 375gr arrow rather than a 300gr. Remember 5grs of arrow weight per lb of draw weight to get that 294-302 range.
If you go up in arrow weight, or add additional weight to the string (peep etc) above and beyond what the hush kit, brass nockset and elim. buttons weight your speed will go down accordingly.
A shipped, the max spec Equalizer (26.5"/60#/300gr) will shoot 292 and up to 302 depending upon the individual bow.

I will just have to shoot the bow and see what it does.
I guess I just don't see the point if it is only gonna push a average weight hunting arrow (375-400gr) at 270ish........like I said, you can get that from almost any Bowtech already so it would be nothing new. My Patriot does that now.
Oh well.......sounds like they are gonna have some nice options this year and I will check them out for sure like I always do........2005 was rather disappointing IMO but from what you have said this coming year looks better on paper at least.
Thanks

Atlasman, BowTech rates their bows just like the other manufactureswith IBO weighted arrows at 30 inches draw length. The Equalizer bow only goes to 26.5 inches draw so it is actually rated at it's draw length of 26.5 inches and the IBO weight of a 300 grain arrow for a 60 pound bow (5 grains of arrow weight per pound of peak draw weight). The Equalizer bow will shoot within 7 or 8 fps of this 302 fps rating or it won't ship out the door, according to BowTech. Some bows might actually shoot higher speeds than the 302. My wife shoots 340 grain arrows for hunting at her 26 inch draw length, these are Easton Lightspeed 400's,, plenty stiff for her 55 pounds so I doubt many shooters will be shooting heavier arrows out of this bow.
If you were "disapointed" in last years line up, maybe you'll find something that you like this year

By the way, at 60/26,5 inch draw and a 300 grain arrow, the Equalizer is putting out 60.77 foot pounds of K.E.
Name one other bow that will do that
Looks like the Equalizer will be a great seller this year[8D]

Remember when you see how impressive these speed numbers are with the Bowtech models that they are being compared to the competition's bows shooting with nothing on the string. Bowtech's bare string speed ratings would be off the charts but rather than confuse the shooter, they show what that exact bow is doing with a loaded string at their specs.
It's good stuff.

Scary.

I'll try again next week to order a Tribute. I called the dealer a few days ago and he was clueless. Asked if I could order a 06 BowTech and he said not yet but then he went on to tell me about the 06 Hoyt catalog he just received.

Hey Matt, no prob! And congrats on the meat in the freezer! I've had about 12 does within twenty yards of me this year so far, and I keep passing them hoping that at least one of them will be pulling the ol' big boy behind her; so far, no dice. I did check the freezer yesterday and saw that I was lower than I have been in about six years -- something like four round steaks and about five one-pound packages of hamburger meat. The next mature doe that walks by might find a Muzzy zipping though her... Been itching to see what kind of damage those heads will do compared to the Rockets you and I used to use anyway.
Don't know if I've ever got to tell you yet, but congratulations on your partnership with Bowtech by the way. I know; it's long overdue... Tell Mr. Snader "Hi!" for me the next time you see him.
