IMO deer prefer acorns to anything else, but they will still come in and eat the bait. This year, deer have been coming in and eating the corn, but not like normal, they seem to be milling around and looking for acorns, but they are not going to pass up and easy meal of corn. In a few weeks, when the acorns are gone, they should be hitting the corn like normal.

Now this is what I would do.. Since I cant bait deer here in PA.. I would reduce the amount of bait. I would mix it up. Once the acorns started falling I would pull the bait for a week or two. Then I might put some apples out. They will eventually want to eat something else. So now you just entice them with a sample of what they had to eat all year. When they smell it they will come running.
