Opening Weekend - IL
#11
Lance - Unfortunately, the powers-that-be in this fine Commonwealth limit us to only one buck. I have a few doe tags left, but I don't know if I'll use them or not. I'll save one for rifle or muzzle-loaderseason.
I'm probably gonna buy a NR OH or WV license and give it a go. If Mark can tag out, we'll probably take our show on the road for a weekend or two. He says he's waiting for a booner, but I think he'sbeen smokin' doe pee.

Had the best stand Saturday. Morning at sunrise was 4 bucks in the field ... 1 big one, but they moved out by shooting hours. Then i had small 1 1/2 old bucksrunning does around all morning until 9:30. Seen over 20 deer. Afternoon was a bit slower just seen does eating in the fields. Sunday i got rained on and came home.
picture of doe took in the afternoon. Only picture i took since i had camera stuck in the bottom of a backpack.

Greetings fellas-I live right on the Ill./Iowa border now about 25 miles from my Ill. home town. Did't go outon the opener-actually I don't start until around the middle of Oct. & then practically liveon Deer stand (I am blessed to be able to do that).
BUT!!! What do you fellas think a Non-Resident feels when he doesn't see a GIANT Buck each time he goes out on stand? I think MANY think your going to be overrun with Whitetails every time you go out from all the Hype on our Big Bucks. Sad in a way-it takes away from the joy of Bowhunting (just my opinion).
Good Luck to you all& I hope you get a chance at that Buck of your dreams. Oh, this is a Pic. I took opening morning in my back yard by my Deer Target. MaMa& her twins aren't to worried-they know I am looking for Daddy...
I agree ahunter55 Those big bucks get big for a reason. You have to enjoy hunting for everything about it. A monster buck is a huge bonus.
