Have you used any of these scents?
#1
I am getting more into decoying this year with my carry-lite decoy. I will be using it as a subordinate buck in my decoy setups.
I want to incorporate more and different scents into my setup, some of which I have never used.
I am interested in decoying near some active scrapeslocated insome open timber and some secluded agriculture fields.
I picked up the scrape scents to make mock scrapes near the active scrape sites I plan to decoy and the buck urine for my scent wicks in and near the fields.
Not sure why I bought the "Hot Musk". Maybe I liked the package [&:]Actually, I figured I mite as well pick up a scent that is not urine based, so I figuredI'd give it a try.
I just wanted to know which of these products you have used and what positive, negative or neural whitetail responses you have witnessed first hand at your setups with these products in particular.
I am not so much interested in what someone's cousins, best friend fathers great uncle Louie witnessed, but what you have saw first hand.
Thanks.

I've used the active scrape, hot musk, and tinks. For the money, I find myself going back to James Valley Scents everyyear. May be a little more expensive, but damn is it effective!

buckeye, I have used these scents with the following results:
Buck Fever Synthetics "Pre/Post Rut"
Works very well for mock scrapes or to spice up an active scrape.
Buck Fever Synthetics "BF Rut"
Used it for licking branch and scrape, seems to work well or could just have been the pre/post rut already there. I couldn't tell.
Buck Fever Synthetics "BF Gland"
I know you didn't have it listed.
Used it for some rubs. I don't know how effective it was since I didn't have a trail cam watching the trees. I did see some bucks coming from the direction of the mock rub line I made so maybe it worked. Also used it on some licking branches.
Code Blue "WhiteTail Buck Urine"
Used on some scrapes. Couldn't tell a difference.
Wildlife Research Center "Active Scrape"
I use this stuff every year in my drippers. Always seems to work well right at the start of and during the rut. Doesn't work well before the rut.
As far as decoying, the only stuff I used was the BF RUT and BF Gland on my decoy. I didn't see anything that day. Probably was just a bad day or maybe they winded me. I didn't use it again since it was such a pain to carry everything into the woods on public land.
On a side note, that is like $60 worth of Code Blue! Did you at least try to get the same numbered buck? I wonder if they really do that or if they just write that on the bottles?

Thanks guys....

I am still going to pick up the "BF Gland". They didn't have it at the shop I was at at the time.
I picked up 2 matching sets of numbers instead of all the same. They better really do that, that's why I paid the extra money for the code blue[8D]

I have used the Tinks and the Active Scrape. The active scrape came with one of those drip bottle thingees. The drip bottle didn't seem to work right...ever, but the active scrape scent seemed better than average at attracting deer to my mock scrape.
Tinks works for me for a limited amount of time. What I have found is that everybody in my area uses it and the deer begin to associate humans with the scent.

I hope at least one of those works 'cause you obviously spent some cash. I have used the Code Blue, Tinks , and thWR active scrape all with positive results. I really like the active scrape and the deer seem to as well. JMHO

I am a firm believer in Scents.Have used them forever. Tons of experiences.
My favorites-Tink's 69, Buck Stop Matrics & Doe in Heat.
I make scent trails (always)-used for mock scraps also. I have had so much success with them that I have a hard time trying new products.
Good Luck.
