Hunters shouldn't get married.

dpv I know how you feel, my wife has only known since the end of last season my hunting plans, she knows that this Saturday is opening of bow! Well she tells me tuesday that we are going to the state fair saturday!!! I look at her and say"You know Saturday is opening day of bow." She said she forgot, but she had already promised the kids. ARRRGHHHHHH!!! I thought about it for a little bit, and realizing I am taking off all next week to bow hunt, then a week for blackpowder, than a week for opening gun, and every afternoon and saturday from Oct. 5th thru Jan. 4th, I figured I would offer just to hunt on saturday morning, I did this with my best "Oh man, I am really dissapointed" look on my face. Maybe she will feel pity for me not having enough time to hunt this year and tell me she will take the kids without me.

Yes I bought my wife a bow this year, and she loves to shoot. I am going to try to get her into hunting soon, but I dont know if she can shoot a deer or not, but Iam working on her. yeah my first day was messed up twice now. One because I areed to be a best man in a wedding which I found out that it was the first day of bowseason, and the other was when my girlfriend (now my wife) had a friend die in the family and the funeral was on the first day also. I didnt even know the person but I still went to the funeral. That was the hardest thing to do. A bit selfish of me I think. But now I am married to the woman of my dreams, and couldnt ask for anything more.

Marriage? No way. Here's the way I see it, I live with my girlfriend (that's right I live in sin.) and she's cool with me hunting. But if there's ever a day when she begins nagging about how I shouldn't hunt, I love her and all but she's outta here. No lady will ever curve my hunting time I don't care how beautiful she is. I am who I am and I ain't changing, not for anyone, well maybe for Alyssa Milano, no,no,no, I'm sticking to my principles. I'm going to end up alone aren't I?

My wife would have just staight up told her "NO". This is opening weekend he ain't going no where. She knows not to even ask. There are 364 days in the year to go the beach or to the lake or to just spend time together. There is only one opening day of bowseason. Mama gets her way all year. Daddy gets his way come hunting season.

Well I feel sorry for you, but you have to give a little take a little. I had been single for several years being a single dad & raising a 3 month baby girl, had several years I could'nt hunt or fish. When my little girl got big enough around 4 yrs. I started taking her camping & fishing. When she got a few years older I took her hunting also. I finally found a lady I care about that loves camping, fishing & hunting. She had never shot a bow (Even though she has a brother that shoots for Mathews) so I bought her a PSE Beast, a pop up stand,etc.etc.etc. & now she bow hunts too. Said she did'nt relize how hard it was compared to rifle hunting. I'm going to marry this girl someday. Told her we would get married @ the deer lease in full camo under the double deer hanger. She said that would be fine with her. I think I got it going on! Good luck jsharris51

Welcome, js! Good luck with the little girl and the Lady also. Sounds like you have your hands full. Lucky you that she's into the Great Outdoors like that.
I had to "trick" mine just to get her to eat lasagna made with venison. She acts like a vegatirian when it comes to eating deer. I still don't understand that. She did say she liked the lasagna though.
