I agree with Irishlad32, taking care of the family is most important in life.
I myself missed the same thing opening day. I was with my wife spending quality time with her. I don't regret it one bit. My wife works days I work nights so we can pass for a whole week and not see each other. I had off and she had off and we needed some time together and that is what we did. She loves venison as I do and she loves duck so she wants me out there to fill the freezer with prime meat. So the deer arent going anywhere so they will be there when I get out there. It wont be any trouble getting my 3 deer that my wife thinks I should take this year. So I have no problem spending opening day with her especially bow season.

I SET IT UP FOR US TO GO ON A CRUISE FOR OUR 10 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND THOUGHT I WAS DOING IT FOR THE LAST WEEKEND OF BOWSEASON AND IT ENDED UP BEING THE FIRST WEEKEND OF MUZZLELOADER.
THERE WILL BE OTHER DAYS FOR HUNTING.
HOPEFULLY SHE WILL REMEMBER IT AND THE REST OF THE SEASON WILL BE OK FOR YOU.
KEEP YOUR OL LADIES HAPPY OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL FOR YOU.
SAD BUT TRUE.

I have spent the last 7 Anniversaries in the North Moose hunting.
All I have to do is to remember to call on that special day and I'm fine. I have 2 years to go before my 20th I think that's one I'll have to miss. Sometimes the Priorities do get mixed up But It's a decision we'll have to live with if we try to RE-ARRANGE them

I've been married for 14 years and it doesn't get any easier each year when bowseason approaches. I'm lucky though i do have a very understanding wife. She understands i love to hunt...lol. I try and make sure i spend plenty of time with her in the off season so when the season gets here she's not to hard on me. My 12 year old son is a hunter and my 2 year old daughter is showing alot of interest also. Now if i can just work on my wife!

My wife of over 20 years puts up with my obsession. If I were presented with your predicament, I would have nicely told her that, "Honey, Bob doesn't bowhunt or he would never have asked us to go. You KNOW that I plan for Opening Day every year and I really don't want to miss it. I'll go with you another time." My wife is understanding enough to accept that. She bought me the sweatshirt that states "We interrupt this marriage to bring you the bowhunting season." Great girl!
