Hunting Winter Wheat...Need ideas
OK here is the layout...on one side of the road is a 40 acre wildlife preserve. The other side of the road is a 40 acre winter wheat field and a 40 acre fall oats field. there is a field road/hedge row that runs the width of the 2 fields. The problem is every evening this fall 20 to 60 deer will grace my presence by walking across the road into the middle of this 80 acres food plot and wont work up to the hedge row until after dark. Is there any feasible way to hunt in the middle of a winter wheat field.

That sounds like a tough situation.... How bout using a tall ladder? or setting up a blind with your scent in it and letting them get used to it before hunting it. I don't know bud. Thats got to be frustrating.. If you would... let me know how you make out.

How about setting up a ground blind in the middle of the field?
Or even just flattening out the grass in an area that you could bring a pad in and sit on your butt.
