Default Winter Wheat

Do turkeys eat winter wheat? I can't decide whether or not to mow what I planted last fall. If the turkeys will eat the grain, I'm inclined to leave it. Otherwise, it has outserved its usefullness.

Suggest you leave the ww field standing - the deer, turks, and dove, along with a host of song birds, will clean up the grain.I'llfollow up my ww with acrop of austrian winter pea.

They sure do. My wheat fields have turkeys in them right up until the first plowing after harvest.
