Default Need help on the Gold Tip Arrows

Ok guys, I need some help, I posted something about this on my Team 20 thread too, but I thought it might get more traffic over here. I am thinking of changing my arrow from the Carbon Express 200, to the Gold Tip XT Hunter. When I went to the sizing chart for the GT, it says that for my Draw weight (60 pounds), and a 100 Muzzy, that I need the 3555 GT. But on the chart, under the 3555, it has the number 500, what is the 500 for? And it also shows that with a 100 grain head, and a 28" draw, that the shortest arrow would be 29", and I now shoot a 28" arrow, I am assuming, that this just means that I will have to have them cut down??????? Thanks for any help.

I have been shooting the 5575 with no problem for over a year now. I have always felt that if the spine is close ie. 33/55, 55/75 it is better to err on the heavier side.

I also pull 60-62 lbs. and shoot a 27.5" arrow and I shoot 55/75's with no problems.

How are you going to cut your 28 inch arrow down to a 29 inch arrow did I read that right. Anyway those will work for you.

Thanks for the help guys. HEy Motown, The chart said that the one that I wanted, started out with the 29" Arrows, nothing shorter, but I need them 28", so I will have to cut the 29'' Arrows down to 28".

Answering the other part of your question, the 500 conincides with a spine of .500. And I agree with the others that your better choice is probably the 5575. A little more forgiving, all things being equal.

I also shoot the heavier arrows even when I was shooting below 70#.

From what I have read on tuning... If your arrow shoots to the left when shooting with no fletching, the spine is weak. Go to a heavier arrow. IE http://www.bowmaker.net/tuning.htm
