wow i smell...something...oh it must be you diesel.
pabow, that is just it, i don't have any nice whitetails to my credit! any of these 4 bucks would be huge in my book, it is just something when you see the biggen next to the rest of them.
is there a way i can put video on this sight? i have a 30 sec. clip of 3 of them, THE BIGGEN, EYE TIN BUCK, AND TH WIDE BUCK.
is there a way to show you all this? it is a digital camcorder, but the bucks are on tape.
p.s. i hunt a very tough area to get to, most people here will not walk 1-2 miles to reach this area. i have shown this video to huntnmuleys, he and i hunt togather alot so....but i am lucky he likes muleys instead of whitetails.

I would definately take him if I had the chance because you never know what could happen. He may be a year older and bigger but that also means he is most likely smarter and better at avoiding hunters, and its not like its guaranteed you would get a shot that next year but I guess thats your own decision to make.

You snooze you loose ... a bird in the hand ... he who hesitates is lost ... opportunity only knocks once ... with that being said if he is larger then anything you have mounted I would say take him if the chance comes ...if you already have one that large on the wall ..well then you might let him go another year ... good luck.

If he is as big as you say i would take the shot if it presents itself. If this buck is bedding on public ground there is always a chance he could get shot by someone else, also every year he gets a little smarter and there is a good chance that at 4 1/2 years old he could go strictly nocturnal and you and everyone else may never be seen again.Good Luck!

i have spotted a buck that by what i can see, is close to a new state record! i found this buck last year, and he made it though the season and the winter. he eats on private land and beds on public. my ? is = if you had a buck that was withen 5"-10" of a new state record, and the deer is only 3 years old, would you shoot him and hope for the record?
or would you give him a year and hope he is not shot this year and you miss out!
show me the light please! i do have him on video, should i take this to the official scorer in the area, to get a better feel for what he scores?
thanks everyone!

Enjoy your time in the woods and if the shot is there, I'd take it...Who knows, you might not be around next season!!!!!!!!! Good luck!

I'd let him grow a couple more years to try and raise the bar for the next person who tries to break the state record.

It's already been said ,but I will repeat it. Don't show video or pics or talk to too many locals. I made that mistake last year and have been literally locked out of my property by a club that has the lease next to me. I know it sounnds strange , but it has happened. All because I showed a gamecam pic of a typical that would be the county record where I live to a member of the club that has the lease i mentioned!
