Page 69 Paragraph 7: "Further, with regard to electronics, the Club's updated Fair Chase rule specifically disallows animals taken: 'By the use of electronic devices for attracting, locating, or pursuing game, or guiding the hunter to such game or by the useof a bow or arrow to whichany electric device is attached."

Page 70 Paragraph 1: "First, disallowing electronics on the hunting bow and arrows was a simple black and white issue....Either you do or you don't have any electronic device attached to the bow and arrow. It's that simple. Club President G. Fred Asell clearly explained the rationale behind this action:"
'We simply drew a line in the sand....Consequently, a decision was made to disallow the use of all electronics on the bow and arrow. ...Again it applys to all electronics - past, present and future- on the bow and the arrow and it only applies to those bowhunters seeking to enter animals into the record book. Incidently, the Boone and Crockett Club has similar rules about the used of electronics.'

I'm not really concerned about having my name in a record book, so it doesn't really bother me. I have a P&Y buck hanging on my wall that I shot several years ago and still have yet to have "officially" scored.

Yes, they are reusable and replacement parts like batteries, nocks etc.. are all available. They also have an ultra lite version which does not require the use of the aluminum case which should allow it to fit virtually any arrow. I have used them for 3 years and they rock. I can't ever see myself hunting without them again.

Now much do those things weigh? Looks like they have the potential to add a lot of tail weight to the arrow and shift the FOC back quite a bitunless one uses heavy points. I'd think it'd also effectarrow spine too.

They are a neat idea, though,but they are pretty expensive.

I have been very interested for some time, but now I'm a little confused. On this tread, I have seen the Tracer and have read and heard about the Luma nock. What is the difference and which is the best? Thanks.

I was always told the where not legal here in Illinois but this was from other hunters.

So, I have a CPO that is a friend of mine and I sent him a email asking him about the legal uses of lighted nocks here in Illinois. As soon as he gets back to me I will let you guys know.

Ifit isnot reconized by P/Y then I don't think I would want to use them. I had the moduals in my bow changed to 65% when thats what P/Y required, the rules may have changed now, dunno? I;m not going to bother entering a 125 into the books but I would put Mr. Big in there, if, I mean when,the oppuritunity comes by.
It is also your responsibility as a hunter if your equipment is legal, That means actually reading it in the regs or a phone call to the state if in doubt, but I wouldn't take anyones word for it. He said, they said, doesn;t hold up at all.

Look here www.tracerarrow.com and here www.burtcoyote.com to see the difference. Both have positives and negatives but from personal experience I prefer the tracer nocks if nothing else for durability.

I have seen no negative effects in arrow flight out to 50 yards and I won't take a shot at a deer over 30 yards anyway so the added weight is a moot point to me.

Don't let the company hear you say that.
