Ok I know I am a little late in asking this but I am going to use a pop-up blind for the first time this season.

Do you have any advice for a first time blind user? <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just remain as scent free as possible. And make sure the blind fits in with the surroundings. Stay down wind.

A buddy of mine bought one and said that they are very tough to use on windy days. They flap around too much in the breeze both making noise and getting in the way of shooting. I've never used one but I suppose his comment makes sense. He did mention that his blind was on the cheaper side so possibly it's only an issue with the lower quality models. Beyond that, I would try to setup in a spot that's slightly elevated allowing me to see a little farther.

I will throw this one into the melee, I have used quickly set up home made blinds, but I have always had far more success with a blind that was in place well before the season, like 3-4 weeks before opening day.

A blind sure would come in handy for those afternoon naps <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I have a farm I hunt where one sure would come in handy, just cant get myself to spend 200 bucks for a tiny tent.

I would also brush the blind as well that will help conceal it.
