Default seasons almost over

im getting kinda depressed because our waterfowl season is almost over, only like a week and a half left. January 1st i went hunting and killed six ducks, 5 greenheads and one hen. and then the 3rd it was kind of slow, killed one big honker out of a flock of four that i got called back to look. i have only killed three honkers this season. On the first there was a big flock of mallards that landed behind me in the river(i was hunting a flooded alfalfa field)cause we've had a lot of rain and all the rivers are flooded. But in the flock of mallards was two pintails, and i couldnt shoot them because i dont have a dog, so i just had to watch them fly off

it would have helped to have a dog because i was hunting right on a main river, and we have had a lot of rain and it was way high

Sometimes with swolen rivers you wouldn't want to send a dog anyway because of the increase in flow. Just because you have a dog dosn't mean that you don't have to look out for his best interest. Mine likes to retreive so much that I have to make the decisions on whether to hunt him or not especially during cold weather.
