When you see bucks chaseing does that is a good time to start calling deer. At first sign of chaseing I will use doe bleats and usually get alot of small bucks to come in and check it out. If I see a big buck roaming around I will use a buck grunt just to get his attention. If he shows interest i will give another soft one and see if he will come in. As for scents, put them all around your stand at ( doe pee etc.) yardages you are comfortable at shooting. This way if a monster comes in more than likely he will stop and sniff giving you an oppurtunity to draw and take your trophy. Scents on occasion will draw in a buck but for the most part they give you a chance at stopping a buck long enough to get the job done. A rutting buck is on a mission if you don't have something that will stop him ( scents, calls ) he will be gone in a flash.
