A direct result of target archers leaking into bowhunting.

60+yd shots have more to do with archery than it does with bowhunting.

I couldn't and wouldn't take that shot on a deer. I don't know about elk because I never hunted them with a bow. I just know that, when the pin covers half the animal, it's hard to pick a spot to aim at.

That being said - my advice would be to take any shot you feel comfortable with but don't post about it on the internet if you feel you'll get 6 pages of negative responses.

I don't knowwhat your penetration would be.

For me bowhunting is about how close I can get a shot not how far away.

Definately don't post one of the " Could you help me find my wounded deer threads"

Now, now, DC... That's not the problem. It's the direct result of guys thinking they have to kill something, no matter how they have to do it. They think because the old time bowhunters did it, that gives them license to do the same. Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize those old time bowhunters were living in a different time; before bowhunters learned from the mistakes and failures of the old timers and developed a code of ethics; before we had animal rights groups breathing down our necks, trying to get bowhunting banned and looking for any lame excuse they can find to do so.
