Default Bowmaster portable bow press

I am interested in getting one of these, for those simple, do it yourself fixes. Does anyone have any experience with one?

Yeh, I use one all the time. I also have an Apple Hydraulic mounted on the bench that I haven't used in about 3 years. Know anybody who wants to buy one?

There is a trick to using the Bowmaster. If you get one get the Split-Limb adaptors with it. They can be used on split and solid limbs alike. And do a better job because you apply pressure to the limb tips instead of closer to the middle with solid limbs. And it also helps to just be using it the same all the time.

It works well and can be put into a pouch that just about fits in your hip pocket.

For simple jobs like string replacement and peep installations, the Bowmaster works great. Its small size makes it very portable and it is relatively cheap.

On the negative side, it does take a bit of hand strength to crank and you have to use caution when you begin to put tension on the cable so that the "limb grippers" don't slip out of place.

Good tool, overall.
