Targets????

RE: Targets????
I would not suggest the blackhole layerd target for broadheads. I believe it is a good one for field tips but soon as I started shooting broadheads into it I started having passthrews and damaging my fletchings. I have heard much better remarks about the Block although I do not have any experience with it. Hope this helps a little.

I use a Dead Stop 4000 bag with 100 grain field tips. Same weight as my broadheads. After 12-15 shots, I just put it on the ground and walk on it. Good as new and ready to go. They say when the cover wears out, you just put a new one on. I even shoot it in the basement hanging from the ceiling on two rubber straps.

The range that I shoot at here has the same material as the block. It cost them 10 grand to build, but they are expecting it to last 10+ years. Cheaper in the long run that using cardboard.
Navy,
After shooting at the block for such a long time, doesn't the painted targets go away? Do you put up stickers to shoot at?

RE: Targets????
For sure on the broadheads in the Dead Stop. I hunt with 100 grain stealhead rockets which I'm sure would mess up the Dead Stop in short order. I looked at the Black Hole but it was a little to much $$ since I am just getting started. My next target will be a Block or Black Hole.

I have The Black Hole. It works real well with field points but, I have shot some spitfire practice tips and they go much deeper into the target. Personaly I would go ahead a spend the extra for the 3-D because the Block and Black Hole aren't very cheap. They are nice because you can set them inside when not in use.
