Default targets

Seen alot of posts on here about targets but they haven't really helped me decide which kind to get. I'd like to spend $60 or less on it. I'll be shooting primarily field pts with a few mechanical broadheads close to hunting season.

I do most of my shooting into burlap bags stuffed with old clothes. Doesn't work well with broad heads but I think mechanicals would pull out ok, just tear it up faster is all.

You can get a 3D target from Walmart for about $50. It also has replaceable kill zones for about $15.

Sheets of polystyrene foam works well. You can restack the sheets when they get chewed up. Only problem is all the foam pieces that stick to carbon arrows.

For field points, bag targets are the way to go. Ive had mine for 4 yaers now and changed the bag once cause the targets were really faded and some of the stuffing had moved over and wouldnt stop. Go to a feed store and get some burlap bags(like what everyone else has said), Then just stuff it with old wal-mart bags or t-shirts and stuff like that. When u get ready to shoot broadheads, just buy a cheap foam target.

i used to do the bag thing, but went ahead and built a framed box out of 2x4's, wrapped it in chicken wire except for the top, stuffed it with old blankets, clothes, etc., and put a piece of tin roofing over the top. now i don't have to get it out of the rain. for broadheads i use one like the one bobco made.
