Default Setting up a climber as a fixed position stand

I am wanting to do this and I was wondering if there was a way to be positive that the climber is secure to the tree at all times.

it would depend on the stand you want to do this with like a steel cable and lock

I do this all the time. I use a ratchet strap and bungy cord to secure it to the tree to keep it from slipping.

You could also place a tether strap from the front of the base to the tree. I would use an Eye Hook on the tree and a length of climbing line. That way you would have positive pressure on the base so that it doesn' t tilt up while you are getting in or out. It may keep it quieter also.

i leave my climber in the woods most of the season. this way it doesn' t pick up any unnatural scents in my apartment. i have a magnum buckshot. its great. i bought the locks and the only way u can steal this stand it to cut the arms off, making it useless. sometimes i take the seat out of the woods but not often. it makes it a lot easier than trying to set up the stand early in the morning in the dark. rains wash any unnatural scent away and i put branches over it too...just for some more camo.....goodluck this season

Try putting a screw in step under the band or cable, depending on the type of stand you have, that will prevent your stand from slipping. Also you can put stand up with cable or band over a branch.Good luck and bring someone with you when you put stands up,just in case
