I like my Gorilla loc - on / fixed Silverback , it has a big platform and nice wide thick padded seat which makes it easyer to stay in it all day.
It also has chain type of hook up , not like the strap type where they have a tendencey to streach and become loose.

i have a summit copperhead. it is super simple to put up and very quiet. with the way that it is hung on the tree, you dont need to find the 'perfect' tree anymore. it can be put on crooked trees and adjusted so the platform is level.

I make my own. I have all the tools in the shop being i live on a farm and can weld pretty good. I have a couple big sheets of expanded metal for the platform, some square tubing for the frame, buy some chain and come cable with locks for the supports on the side and i am good to go. Goin to build a pile of them this spring. I wouldnt recomend this unless you have done quite a bit of welding before cause you are putting your life on the line. I test all mine out leaving a pile of weight on it for 6 hours or so at a time. I usually chain them on and then put a ratchet strap around them as well which really seems to snug them up nice. I do need a bit more thought into my seat though. I originally cut out a seat shape with the jig saw then put foam over that, wrapped it around with leather and stapled it at the bottom of the seat. Need something a bit more comfortable for next time. The platform is supported by cables attacthed the the frame so it folds up nice when not in use and also i have bolts running through where the seat is attached so that you can flip the seat up when your standing to give you that extra 8 inches or so of standing room.

I like both the gorillas and the Lone Wolf stands.
If I have a spot where I just want to leave a stand for a lenghty period of time..that is for the Gorilla. They make a great stand that is safe and cheap.
But if I am to take just one stand with me.. I'll choose Lone Wolf.. hands down! Safe, lightweight, and extremely easy to set up. I can put up a Lone Wolf (16 ft.) in about 8 minutes or less. Love them!

If I had to pick one stand only it would be Lone Wolf, though I use other stands as well. Having said that.........I honestly believe the most trustworthy tho not the most comfy hang on stands are Loc Ons because of their durability. Its hard to argue against a stand I've used for somewhere between 15-20 years. My Loc ON Spirit and Loc On Lem have stood the test of time.

My favorite and the stand I've got the most of isn't being manufactured these days... It was a brand called Staghorn out of Goshen, Indiana...
I used to have threads on all the major boards advertising that I would buy any that I could find.

If an all day setup is required like when hunting the prerut, rut; the New Millenium is by far the most comfortable hangonI have ever used. Quiet, safe, and VERY comfortable. My wife loves it. I sat for 6 hours a day for 6 nights bear hunting in the Millenium and it was as comfortable as sitting at home in your favorite easy chair; just the view was a lot better in Canada
