RE: looking for a good hunting release
I have a tru fire patriot ($17 at Dicks) and it works great. I think it works so well becuase I use a metal D Loop (Tru-Ball D-Loop).
I absolutely think the metal loop makes a big difference over the string loop. It also makes the draw feel easier.

And the answer is.....well a release is a very personal thing in my opinion, it's about what feels right for you, I would try as many different styles as I could before making a decision, there are many. I shot fingers for years also and finally made the switch to a T-handle style, then when I tried the
Tru-Fire Hurricane I bought three and never looked back.

Jim Fletchers Fletch hunter W/ deluxe wrist strap is what I started with and still love dearly when I went from fingers to a Release , I have tried them all but still nothing feels as good as my fletch hunter. JM.02 worth
