Default Airborne 101 & 82

I hear alot of people on here talk about the 82nd but hardley anyone talk about the 101st. I have yet to shoot either but plan on doing so Sat. or Mon. just wondering what people think about the 101.

The 101st felt the same as 82nd to me. I thought the draw cycle was a little smother on the 101st but it wasen't by much. im going to go with the 101st for the longer bh but you can't go wrong with either one IMO.

The 101st will be my next bow. It fits me better than the 82nd.

all around great bow speed with accuracy, you can honestly shoot a 20-30 hunting pin with very little difference

I have both and they are both very impressive. I do think the 101 will be overlooked by a lot of people who are chasing #'s. Mistake!![8D]It is a Sweet bow, and anyone considering an Airborne should shoot both and then decide.

Maybe I'm one of the few that dislikes the 101st. Like I stated in one of the other forums (along with a few other people) the bow just makes a weird noise during the shot. I have shot two different 101st at two different shops, and they both made a noticeablethumping noise on the shot (and not the arrow hitting the target). I was trying out both the X-Force Dream Season and the 101st, and even one of the shop guys acknowledged the louder noise. The bow feels very nice and stable in the hand, but I'm sorry. I just can't get over that noise. If you could eliminate that noise with add ons, then it would be hard not to consider. Haven't shot the 82nd, so I can't say anything about it. But if I were to choose today between the Dream Season and the 101st, hands down would go with the Dream Season.

If the ShortStop is not properly adjusted, there's a noise when the string fights it's way into the groove. Easily fixed. They aren't necessarily adjusted properly when they are boxed up - and I'd venture to say that most shops don't do much in the way of aligning that part or making sure that all of the screws are Tight with a capital T. It really doesn't take many shots by prospective buyers to "activate", for lack of a better term, the effect of energy disipation from the string coming to an abrupt stop in it's forward travel - resulting in loosened mod screws.

I don't own a 101st yet, but my Marquis is similar enough that what I experienced probably holds true with any of the Bowtechs with ShortStops, and I quickly learned that having the string land perfectly in the catcher makes a difference. And whether it lands perfectly or not is more on the guy who releases the string than on the bow. Although "the book" says the groove in the stop should be directly in line with the string, and just barely touching it when you pick up the bow, if the archer has even the slightest cant in his draw-and-release, the string will miss the groove and create a sound. That's why there is adjustment in the positioning: to match the feature to the archer's habits.
