I'm no expert here, but I have always done well with my uninsulated boots by:
1. Using liner socks. The thin liner socks made for hikers. These really keep your feet dry.
2. Using no cotton in any layer.
3. Use gore tex or similar type boots.
4. Jamming a small hand warmer in the toe and loosening the laces while in the stand.
This has worked well in the stand down to about 25 deg. and walking down to 0 deg.
I think I will try the electric socks instead of hand warmers in the future.

i have yet to find elecric socks that worked,if someone finds pair that does, let us know..also socks are usually not long enough,so batterys sit down in your boots UNCOMFORTABLE.
as far as me, the foot warmer packs you buy for 6 hrs,is way to go.
some use the handwarmer size that goes for 10 hrs.
wal-mart has the footwarmers on sale..
6 pack is 1.97 right now.
i bought 3 packs.
also they have some that go 18 hrs,not for feet but i bet you could make them fit in your boot if all you are doing is sitting all day and not walking a lot.

I would say use foot powder and wear nothing over 800 grams of thinsulate with breathable gortex. Also, keep the circulation flowing because you may have poor circulation which would alsoincrease the perspiration in that area. Something that helps open up the vains is drink plenty of water. I know this sounds strage and contradictory but it works for me, I think. My feet always sweat! Also, maybe ditch the thick boot socks and only wear normal athletic tube socks, this may help as well. You want your boots to be comfortable enough to walk in but you need some space in between your sock and your boot.
Anyway, good helpful post for hunters!

I can see that everyone has different ideas and things to try (like I'm about to go to the opposite extreme of the above post and wrap my feet in as much Thinsulate as I can buy; I'll know the results the next time it gets cold here...)
Word of caution here, though...
Most athletic tube socks are 100% cotton -- the absolute wrong material to use when trying to stay warm, especially if your feet sweat at all. There's a reason the old saying "cotton kills" has stuck with us. It will not wick away the sweat from your skin.

The wife told me rubbing your feet with Cyann pepper will keep your feet warm.
I have no clue if it will work. Her dad once told me of a guy who drank a shot of kerosene eveyday and worked outside with a light shirt in winter. Don't have a clue about that one either.

I think the Cabela's Predator Pac boots have been mentioned --if not in this thread, in the one in the bowhunting forum -- and I just received an e-mail from Cabela's announcing they're $20 off right now.

I just go some 1400 grain Irish Setter Snow Trackers for Christmas. Anyone know if these will be any good? I can’t find much for reviews but think they should be warm. (Tree stand hutting in below freezing temps) some below zero weather.
I was also looking at the 1500 grain La Crosse alpha burleys. Different style of boot but I was wondering what would be best for bow hunting. I will be wearing a liner sock and a wool outer sock.
Thanks
