Hey yall, I still have the factory installed whisker biscuit on my diamond black ice and I was wonderin how many fpsI would gain switching to a drop away and how much the accuracy would improve as well. I was also wonderin what yall think about the two drop aways that I am considering and if both of them work with blazer vanes because I have heard because the blazer vanes are taller that they sometimes have clearance problems with some drop aways. That could be from someone setting it up wrong but I dont know. The two I am considering are the ripcord drop away and the trophy taker x-treme full contain drop away. If anyone has any ideas or any commentsabout any of my questions I would greatly appreciate a reply. Thanks everyone!

I could only guess that you might pick up anywhere from 1-3 fps, but again, that's a guess. As far as accuracy goes, a whisker biscuit is capable of being just as accurate as most common rests used by the bowhunting community, I think. I've never used one, but its certainly got a very big fan base.
I've also never used the two dropaways you've mentioned. I prefer the Muzzy Zero Effect when I can use it, and if unable to use that I'll go with Vapor Trails Limbdriver.

I agree with Greg. Rests are a personal preference and any advantage speed wise and/or accuracy wise would be minimal
On another note. I know of one dealer that received an Airborne 82 Tuesday. I'm sure there are more

I agree on both accounts with Greg, the speed gain of switching would probablybein the 3 fps range (I did it once and picked up 4 fps, granted, that'snot enough to motivate you to switch as you won't even notice thistinychange in speed). The main reason I switched is becasuethe Whisker Biscuit cuts down your vision when you're at full draw, it blocks a great deal of the sight window and that's not good for hunting.I heard the Whisker Biscuit is the #1 rest in America so it can't bebad but in my opinion, you can't beat the Zero Effect. It's solid, easy to adjust, your arrow can't fall off during even a super quick and jerkydraw (buck fever draw;-), the plastic arm won't ever change in length like string attachments on somedrop away rests can doand it'sas reliable as anything out there. The only thing I do to mine is clip about an inch off the thin end of the arrow rest so it does not catchon the brush while walking through the woods.

Here's my initial thoughts after playing with my first Zero Effect last year...

I was just talking to Mark Land at Muzzy this morning, and he still hasn't had a chance to play with the new Bowtechs with the roller guards and start looking at what changes he'll need to implement to get the ZE's to work on the Marquis and Airbornes... When he does, I'll be putting that rest on all those bows. In the mean time, like I said, I've got a Limbdriver on all of them.
The reason I provided you with the link for investigative purposes is that the Zero Effect will work on the Black Ice; I had one on my personal bow. I did cross the cables up above the guard though, but it worked perfectly fine.

I got to shoot an 82nd today! I shot a 101st last week and was much more impressed by the 82nd. It was a little smoother, definitely quieter and faster than the 101st. In defense of he 101st I shot, I believe there are some issues that need to be looked at on the one I shot, particularly with the positioning of the string stop. I also noticed that the cables were being bowed out by the cable loops on the cams. So I suspect the string is a tad long and the cams may be a little out of time as well. We also found loose bolts on the limb lockdown bolts.
I do believe a Testarossa 82nd Airborne is in my near future. Greg, what kind of anticipated ship dates are you heaing on the Testarossa Airbornes?
Here's videos of me shooting each one.

Mike, nothing definite yet... so I'd hate to put a date on it -- just the same rumors you're hearing at this point.
