Has any one tried the new hot dot by summit. I shoot a hoyt V-TECH and am wondering if this sight is worth trying out.

I played w/ one that a friend got for product testing. It's a good design and all. The pendulum feature is nice. I'm just not much on electronic sights. I wish we could have torture tested it to see how it would hold up to a drop, fall, bump etc.
They are somewhat pricey also.
I'm stickin with pins.

I've played with one quite a bit, actually...

I was working the Bass Pro Fall Classic over the weekend for Bowtech, but we were helping anyone we could who came to the archery counter as well. A couple guys came over with questions about the Hot Dot, and I took one out of the package to show it to them. Their jaws literally dropped at the features available on this puppy, and they couldn't quit playing with it in pendulum mode. Both of them walked out with one of them after that!

Be sure to check out the thread I linked you to in order to answer the question about drops and other hazards!

Ran into my first problem with the Hot Dot, seems the battery connection will loosen up after shooting several shots. At first I noticed the light getting dim andI replaced the battery, but after about two dozen shots the light became dim again. I checked the connection and it appears the battery will loosen up, it's only held in place by a thin clip and the cover puts pressure on it by using a small piece of foam, the foam had compacted to the point that it was allowing the battery to slip. I replaced the foam and now it works fine. I'm going to send an email to Summit. I still love this sight
