Western MA,

Why do you say the Slick Tricks are pretty sick?

The Slick Trick has established one of the most impressive reps of ANY b-head in the industry in just a few short seasons. They truly are a top quality product!

I am however somewhat stunned that the junky low quality Crimson Talon would even be brought up on a Slick Trick thread.... WOW! [:-]

IL-Cornfed,

5 Star in his respected broadhead tests concluded with this about the new Crimson Talons: "
Overall the redesigned Crimson talon is a major improvement over the earlier ones and a darn good head as I now see it."

I thought they looked gimmicky at first and heard about breaking, but the new blades are supposed to be tough. I think I'm going to check em out.

The new ones are much different than the old ones.

EDIT: There was a time when slick tricks had their problems too with rattling and not being tight.

The blade is now solid to the ferrule for its entire length and also have the bleeder as part of their make up. I have not shot mine yet but just from the looks of them they will be extremely solid and should not bend.

Midsouth... I mean sick in a good way! They are great broadheads. Leave huge gaping holes. Sick in what they do to game.
I have to agree w/ Lebeau & Bruce, IL.
My first set of 'Tricks weren't sharp and rattled quite a bit... but they took care of it for me. Great company & cust service. Yes, the old CT's may have been flimsy, but a good hit put them down extremely quickly... but you did only get one kill per broadhead. The new XTs are much more durable. I think you will probably still break blades if you hit bone though.

Slicks are awesome. I used them last year, massive trauma to animals and super tough head. Shot two deer and a rabbit with the same head. Also, they are one of the few companies where you can call them and the owner answers the phone. I recently ordered some heads for my brother for his birthday, and I wanted to kind of expedite the shipping, so I called, and the owner answered and got them out the same day. Tough to beat that service.

Great service.
I shot a bear & 2 deer one year w/ the same head. All 3 clean passthroughs. Huge holes like 10 guage slugs.
