Look at that link many photos of epoxy rests. I know there is a site with step by step instructions but I can't find it. Basically mix the putty and put it on the shelf. Make the rest groove with an arrow. When it dries wrap some sand paper around an arrow and smooth the epoxy out. If your not happy with the results knock it off and try again.

wow that looks pretty cool, i might have to definitly look into that. how easy is it to "knock it off"? in case i dont like it or wanna jus go back to a dif rest

To be honest I do not know how easy it would be to knock it off. I would not use anything like JB weld or QuickSteel. From what I have read they say to use plumbers epoxy. Not sure what the difference is but I've never heard of plumbers epoxy used on a cracked engine block

Sharp tap with a hammer will get it off w/ no damage to the bow, other than maybe the paint. Pretty sure plumber's epoxy is the same stuff. I have used many brands, and some have been called "plumber's epoxy" on the label.
