Weighing No Excuse Conicals...
Today I was off of work, but couldn't go shooting. So being bored I got out my digital grain scale which I use to make sure all my arrows are within a few grains of each other. So, being the bored individual I weighed all 50 conicals from No Excuse. I have the 460's...
Here is what I found...
451 grains=1
452 grains=1
454 grains=15
455 grains=28
457 grains=5
50 conical bullets
Weights ranging from 9 grains to 3 grains from the mark of 460. Now I don't really think that 3-9 grains will impact any accuracy, but I was surprised at the range of the weights.
What does everyone else think?

Shoot them... you will really like them...
Be sure and post your results... Especially rifle type, twist, etc.. there is a lot of doubt out there about fast twist rifles shooting these big conicals well. I think after you try them you might like them...

That weight spread rally isn't too surprizing. Afterall - those are lubed bullets and you are weighing the lube as well........and applying equal amounts of lube to each bullet is almost impossible to do.
Like cayugad said, once you find the powder charge they like - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well they do.

Yea, I had already taken that into consideration. It's like archery--a raw arrow may weigh 250 grains, but once you get the fletchings, glue, inserts, glue, cresting, and tips I sometimes have anywhere from 1-8 grains difference. Does anyone know what that grain variance will do to the accuracy of an arrow at hunting distances--ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
I wasn't to concerned--just bored out of my skull today.

Paul, if you get bored again - try weighing out some of the Hornady SSTs/TC Shockwaves (without the sabots). The ones I weighed are the most consistent lot of ANY bullet I've ever weighed - including Match bullets for my centerfire stuff.
