I've recently purchasd Thompsons Encore turkey gun. Being new to muzzleloading I'm looking for any info on loads, powder charge, amount of shot, etc. I'll be using #6 shot with T/C shot cups and triple 7 loose powder. Any advise or possibly a website address with info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't have any experiance with your gun in particular and am a little green at all this myself. But what I did with my T/C 12 gauge New Englander is Start with 60 grains of powder and 1 3/8 oz of 6 shot. I worked up my shot load until I was happy with the results wich is now 2 oz, and then I added more powder untill I got to 90 grains. I'm useing Kight shot and shot cups with Goex black powder. Hope this helps a little.

Hey Turkey Addict, thats basically what I did except I used some 7.5s that I had left over. The gun is awsome Patterned well with 80 grains of powder and 2 oz of #7.5 shot. I will shoot again this weekend with some #6 and #5 shot. Do you Know of anywhere to Buy shot cups and such in bulk? T/C sells them 12 at a time for like $10.00. Thanks for your input - Matt
