H & R Buffalo classic sight question
looking to tap the information source again. i was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with this gun, why i am asking is my dad just got one and it has a williams reciever sight and a lyman target friont sight. he is maxed out on elevation on the rear sight and still shooting 6" low at 50 yards. it looks like he may have to change the front sight to a blade. its a 45-70 and i realixe this isnt a black powder gun in the pure sense but you can load it with black powder if you choose so i was hoping someone around here may have had one and had some remedy ideas. thanks for the help....

If I am not mistaken; I believe this rifle usually comes without sights installed. I wonder if the seller didn't install the sights and not get a compatable rear and front sight. Having two different manufacturers seems like that could be the problem. I would go back to the seller and ask for correction.

RE: H & R Buffalo classic sight question
I own a BC 45/70 load it smokeless and with BP. I have a Williams peep sight and a Williams 17A front sight with inserts. one of the most accurate guns I own. Not the fanciest but with 50.0 gr of IMR 3031 /405 RemJSp/Fed 215 mag riflew primer it is a tack driver . As near a 1 holer @100 yds as I have ever seen with such sights, I shoot long range (1000yds) comp with that rig and can ring a 12X12' steel plate 4 out of 5 times from a rest.
