Default How much drop after 100 yds?

I don't have access to a shooting range over 100 yds and I was just curious. I shoot T/C shockwaves (250g) with 90g T7 (ffg). I am dead-nuts on at 100 yds (2" groups). There is no load data for these projectiles that I could find. The gun is a CVA Optima (26" barrel). Any idea how much the bullet will drop from 100 to 150 yds?

this was figuring loose T-7 with a velocity muzzle of 1670, sectional density of 0.175 (250 grain Hornady SST) and a balistic co of.210 (250 Hornady SST). As you can see the bullet does not drop as fast as you might think and holds good energy out to even 300 yards....

Default RE: How much drop after 100 yds?

Hey,
Great bullet. I had started shooting them in my Enore earlier this year, they ran out locally and finally got some more.

I had mine sighted in at one inch high at 100 yards. The furthest I can shoot on a range locally is 150. From what I was seeing was 1 inch high at 100 gave me a bit more than 1 inch low at 150. Extrapolated I figure it would be about 5 to 7 low at 200. When I get the chance, I am going to shoot over my Chrony and get a better idea of the performance. That said, I haven't shot over 150 to test out the theory.

I am shooting 2 50 grain pellets of 777. When I have time, I am going to try three pellets but am not in a great hurry. I have shot 4 deer with this combo and have had full passthrough and damage about equal to a 308 or so on the deer. One thing though, I don't go for shoulder shots. I shoot a muzzle loader similar to shooting a bow, a couple of ribs behind the front elbow. Usually get a double lung hit, full passthough and lots of blood to track. Don't usually get an instant kill, but also don't get allot of meat damage to the front quarters either though.

Good luck
Hank

Thanks guys, I figured that the initial muzzel velocity would be somewhat faster than 1670 fps shooting 90g T7. Looks like I will have to experiment with some 95 and 100g loads and see if the groups open up. I've never tried over 90g T7 - just seemed like I didn't need to considering the groups I shoot average 2" - Looks like I need to go back to the range for about half a day and play around.

I don't know all the figures. On a Knight video it says sight in 2" high at 50 yards and it will put you right on at 100 depending on the bullet and charge.
