Benefits of Stainless Steel T/C Firestorm?
I' m considering buying a T/C " Firestorm" 50 cal Flintlock and see they have a Stainless Steel model in addition to the Blued Steel model.
Just curious what the benefits would be to the SS model? Does anyone know if it would be any lighter? The regular steel gun weighs 7lbs.
Also, can the SS barrel still rust on the inside and outside like the regular barrle or not?

Yes, stainless steel will rust. Stainless steel is not a rust proof metal. What it will do is buy you more time before you have to clean after shooting. It' s far more forgiving than blued steel, but it still has to be cleaned like blued steel. IMO it' s worth the price difference to buy stainless over blued. Because it' s harder than blued steel it will take longer to break in than a blued steel barrel, but will last longer for the same reason.
