From the angle of entry, it looks like the bullet may have been stopped by the opposite shoulder or shoulder blade.
That may explain why it didn't exit.
Congratulations on the successful shot.

Thanks for the pics! These are the kind of pics I like to see...I want to know what v various bullets are doing to the game. I too would be a little concerned about the lack of an exit would, but with an entry wound like that, that's one dead dear, and dead pretty quick.

I'm currently testing Deepcurls in my gun, and if I can get them under 2" at 100 yards, I'll go with them. I used PT Golds last season, and had a pass-thru with large entry/exits at 150 yards and only 90gr BH209, but I also shot a deer at approximately 10 yards and never found even a drop of blood, not to mention a deer. I could have missed...we'll never know...but that incident shook my confidence in that bullet. And I had a 1" group @ 100 too. Too bad.

Congratulations on killing what looks to be an excellent eating deer. Thank you for the pictures, and your excellent description of the bullet performance. This bullet has been placed on my do not buy, do not try list.

More pics from the hunt including the fragment pics.

Fragment on stomach liner.

This small 30cal hole held a bullet fragment in it. This is the opposite shoulder.

This was what i found inside that hole.

I was going to post blood trail pics but figured, why go through the trouble? Easier just to post the video once i put it together LOL.

X2 Ron, it's really unfortunate that BPI doesn't get it when it comes to bullets.that big old pure lead hollow point has nothing to control expansion and frags..Jon should stick to the Thors.

Why anyone would buy this junk for $2 a piece is beyond me. Most guys could spend $.50 on a Speer Deep Curl and Harvester sabot and get 10x the performance.

If you live in an area where sabots aren't allowed, Thors seem to be the way to go.
