Well dead is dead, and that nice buck sure looks dead to me. I would expect a 300 or 300+ grain bullet to exit with that shot on a deer that size. But not necessairly a 250 grainer, especially if it breaks up. How much bone did the bullet hit? The recovered bullet pictures will be really interesting.

Now that's the way to start stocking the freezer for the year. Good job. I would be proud to have taken that deer, and you should be too. I was hoping for the new Powerbelts to pass through, so I guess I'll pass on them. That's a shame too, they're so darn accurate.

I am a little surprised that you did not get a pass through at that distance. Especially since I was under the impression that the powerbelt you were using was made to penetrate. You must have hit square shoulder going in, and that is what started the break up of the projectile.

What's your view as to the behavior of the bullet? I am sure you had a good powerful powder charge behind it.

Is that seriously, not a good enough reason for you?

or do you just have to find something to argue with FG about? kinda like i do with, the mighty feathered one.... Its funny how most can disagree and give **** to FG but let someone say something to grouse and everybody wants to jump in...

You need to give it a rest. You're providing no assistance and just causing problems. You're not the forum police, go outside and shoot your ML.

MD, Glad you had sucess. If you're pleased with the deer that's all that matters. I thought these PBs were supposed to hold together better? Your experience is exactly waht I've seen/experienced with the regular PBs.
