Default Optima belches lead and smoke!

We got out bright and early today and after dropping my brother in law off at a spot, my bro and i headed to the normal area we've been hitting since saturday.

We stopped to glass for a while and then hit another spot, didn't see anything and so i decided lets just go for a short walk and get up on a hill and glass the valley below.

Along the way we jumped 2 does and watched them for a while, got up and started toward the little hill and boom!!

My left eye caught movement and i saw a deer walking. I whistled and the deer stopped, i sighted my Optima down on it and saw one antler had 3 points and i said to myself, good enough!

I plastered him at around 80 yards with a high shoulder shot with 110gr Blackhorn209 and the new 250gr Powerbelt Aerolite.

Great blood trail from the point where it impacted him and to where we found him 20 yards away dead.

Will get pics up later.

a long shot from being big! I got some video and am chuckling. Im not sure if i was laughing because i was happy or because i was laughing at its antlers LOL. No seriously though, a monster 5x5 would have been nice but they wouldnt let us get closer than 30 yards from them for 3 seconds. This hunt was mainly to test out that new Powerbelt and see how things went.

Sadly the camera man is blind and was on a DOE and not my buck when i fired i coulda puked when i saw that.

We did video the tracking job from start to finish.

I really think you should post your video here and delete your proselyting link. Do you allow that kind of recruiting in your forum?

congratulations on the deer. Sounds like a good hunt to me. Meat is meat and the horns don't taste too good.

Well, that link is back to the poster's own forum and requires you to register with that forum to see something he posted here. I feel if you're using this forum you should post all of your info here if at all possible. It would certainly have been possible in this case.

Links to information not in a forum format (such as a Cabala's advertisement) are fine. But links to another forum should be avoided if possible - especially one's own forum.

(A proselyter is one who attempts to convert a person of a different religion to his own religion.)

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, just expressing an opinion. However I did fail to congratulate Devil on the kill, and meant to do so.

Good post on the hunt Devil, and congratulations on the buck. As Cayugad said, them horns don't even make good soup.
