I wouldn't try that distance with rb . With a 300 gr shockwave and 100 gr powder I have 23 inches drop at 200 yards with a 100 yard zero. I was trying 280 the other day and with 120 gr and a 250 bullet I still had 43 inches drop . The program said 36 inches . I imagine rb would be greater than that

Yeah with a target as big as an elk and how good they stand out, with the right open sights, 200 yards is very easily done.
Just trying to be fair with a big bullet in the 06. I never used more than a 180 gr in mine. 150gr for deer.

I'll accept a 200yd shot with an inline scoped and a good charge and bullet. The PRB is dying at 200yds. Especially for elk.

I know you. I don't think you'd take that shot. Too much room for error.

We have plenty of openings for another season. A primitive ML season would be nice to have. I wouldn't care if they put it in the middle of winter. Actually, i'd prefer it. I hate sweating when i'm hunting. I think I lost 10lbs of sweat this year hunting.

just the same narrow minded bullsh!t, the long bow guys hate the compound users, and they both hate the crossbows guys.... the traditional MLer guys hate the inline crowd and the anti hunters hate em all..... seems to me only the anti's are winning in this agruement!!!

but as i stated before just because you like to daydream about living in the early 1800's doesn't make you superior to any other crowd... hell the only difference between the first inline and a percussion hawken was the rifled barrel and the cap was "inline with the charge"... so, to me unless you are shooting a flinter, there is not enough of a difference to call yourself a traditionalist!!!!!

I don't feel superior, and I don't hate anybody. Those are your words.

Do you look at the whole world the way you look at me?

I like to do most of my hunting with a rock and a flint knife. The rest of you are all cheaters.

Well unless you drop out of a tree on top of a deer and strangle it with your bare hands then whatever you use to kill it is a weapon. You use whatever weapon suits your fancy and so will I.

I kind of think it is cheating to climb the tree.
