Default Hunting blinds?

I never hunted out of a blind til last year. I figured they would be beneficial in getting the kids closer for a shot. And they are good at that but the blind that I have is not really designed for youth. My kids cannot shoot unless standing up. I think a blind with some lower windows so a kid could shoot sitting sure would be better. If there isn't one like that it would be nice if someone took that into consideration when designing blinds.

The outhouse blind I have employes windows both vertical and horizontal. Meaning depending on which one you open, you can be standing or sitting on the ground if you wish. The vertical windows are not that wide, only five inches, but if all you're doing is poking a gun barrel or arrow out of them.. how wide do they have to be. The horizontal are more tuned to someone sitting on a stool.

I would love to hunt out of a ground blind for deer but I am pretty certain that you should have it out at least a week or two before hunting for the deer to get used to it. Something I can't do here. Someone would steal it for sure. Heck even putting a lock on a hang on tree stand isn't enough security. They just come back with bolt cutters.
I don't know how these people (I won't even consider calling them hunters) were raised. I mean, did they ever even hear about morals and ethics? It just upsets me that people would do things like that. Stealing someone else's tree stand/blind wouldn't even cross my mind. If I see a stand in a new area, I won't hunt within 100 yds of it.

Bronko you need to try setting the blind up the same day you hunt. I have been doing it with my Double Bull blinds for a long time. And they work great. They basically take away any movement. And they allow you to move around comfortably. Try it, they work. Tom.

The first ground blind of ours I set up for my 2nd son Artie in a field of bean stubble. I set up the blind 3 days before the hunt. It snowed on the second day and then got sunny and melted the snow off the doghouse. That thing stood out like a sore thumb out their with six inches of snow on the ground. Anyway, Sat morning the season opened and I got a call at 9 am that he had his deer gutted and ready to pick up. I think the key is lack of movement and the house keeps your scent inside.
I suppose they make the windows a height that works for most users, Maybe a higher chair would help Chet, I did not say high chair.
