I would bet IMR and buttflappers are behind the lobby effort to ban BH209 during that season. It wouldn't be the first time and even Pedersoli has been invloved to make it "primitive" only. Just offer a totally primitive season or zone and the problem is solved. Leave inline powder choices alone!!!

While this I am sure this is upsetting to many, we need to remember... States make their laws according to what they feel best for the State, the wildlife, and the economy. Even if they are totally wrong as is most cases. Our governmental agencies that deal with wildlife management and laws affecting how things are run, are often administrated by pencil pushers and highly educated individuals who understand very little about key components of hunting in general. Some political action group tells them BlackHorn209 is an illegal or an unfair powder and so they react. Many times, completely ignoring the facts of the actual allegations.

Hunters all over need to write the game management administrations of these states, and explain to they why they feel the banishment of BlackHorn 209 is wrong. If they so feel that way. Also what this banishment will do in their decision to hunt in their state.

When fish and game regulators see or begin to feel their pocket book threatened, they normally tend to look into matters a little more closely and then base their decisions on hard facts instead of suspected allegations.

BH 209 is a cleaner burning powder,but its still a ML with a single shot,right?
Maybe you gain some fps,but I don't see a landslide advantage!
Do they restrict compound bows vs traditional due to more fps & more efficient?

Very well written and unfortunately very true...get your pen and paper out..... doesn't matter how strongly we disagree on this forum unless it reaches the right person in your states department of natural resources or what ever department that handles the game laws in your state.

I use BH209 and like it. But this would not phase me in the least. I would load up and shoot some of the real deal, black powder. I use Goex FF in my traditional guns and my guns always go bang. How about going traditional this year and have a load of fun SL?

But for inlines if you must, I would consider Pyrodex RS to be a very superior sub powder.

Now remember this is all my personal opinion.

There are times like these that I"m glad I live in MT. No muzzleloader season therefor I can shoot whatever powder, bullet, gun etc. Yes it would be nice to have a season but there is no way that MT will ever do that. They got rid of all the late hunts and there not about to start another nor go against the bow hunters.
