Default Cleaning a barrel shooting Blackhorn 209

I saw on a bullet website where it said when using Blackhorn 209, you should only use a smokeless powder cleaner. Is this true?

I have some Knight cleaning patches i have used for a long time, and also purchesed some TC, T17 cleaning patches and these wont be good to use with the Bighorn 209?

Might work your way through this thread - has some really good thoughts in it.. not really mine but others that shoot BH much more than I do.

I believe the blue T7 patches will work fine. Go one wet then one dry .

I used Rusty Duck Black Off last range trip and it worked beautifully with BH209. I ran a patch lightly soaked then flipped it and ran again. I then dry patched twice and it was almost clean. One more Rusty Duck and a dry patch and it was clean.

If the cleaner you have smears the fouling all around then you will know it will not work.

Hoppes is cheap at Wally World though.

I personally use Sweets 7.62 after a round of shooting. I like this solvent on all of my guns. I will brush it 15-20 times and let it soak in the barrel while I clean the bolt and Lehigh conversion kit. After I get through with this, I then put Hoppes on the brush and run in up and down the barrel a dozen or so times. I then use some patches soaked in alcohol and start cleaning out the barrel. This process has really worked for me, some may say it is over kill but hey, I don't mind!

I use Birchwood Casey Bore Scrubber.

3 DRY patches pushed down the bore to remove loose fouling, 1 wet patch to swab the bore with, Another soaking wet patch that i again swab the bore with, allow that to soak for a few minutes and then follow up with another patch, a couple dry patches and im done.

I like CVA Barrel Blaster. Cleans plastic fouling, no brushing required.

I use Butch's Bore Shine.

Don't take a good wiff of it. It will knock your socks off, but it sure cleans.

I should clarify as there are several different variations, I use the foaming stuff, expensive, but if time is money....well spent.
