I honestly believe the Lehigh .458/275 is probably one of the most universal bullet made.

What i really wish is that we would have traded places places for those few days.... I would have loved the cool weather, the thrill of the hunt, the success of those bullets and everything else about your hunt, not to mention the use of one great rifle...

See you could have been here and watch this collection of snow in the last week and half....

Thanks Sabot, but no thanks!! As much as I would have loved for you to shoot my Knight, it just isn't worth it!! I do appreciate all the info you gave me on these bullets and sabots. I can't wait until deer season!! We are talking about going back to Texas in April and hunting turkeys and hogs, so maybe that will cut a little of the tention until November!!

That 'blue' guy really does not look real happy... sorta reminds of of one of my old project leaders - he looked like that all the time!!!!

Default Hog Hunt Pictures...

onetohunt

OK I got the pictures from 'onetohunt' and I know he is trying to be nice cus he is a nice guy... but, I think this is over-the-top a bit - rubbing it in....

It really is a good looking rifle... and that should be enough pork to last for awhile... in fact what would you with it all?

onetohunt: Thanks for the story and pics. That is one nice looking rifle !

It sounds like you didn't get a chance to really fine tune the load combo... but what kind of groups were you getting ?

Reason I ask is I tried the Lehigh 277gr (.459) with the MMP orange sabot in my .50 DISC Elite...and got pretty good groups but was hoping for better. I went with the 277gr (.459) because I wanted a tighter fitting load. But I only went as high as 90grs of BH209.

I probably should revisit the 277 Lehigh and go up to 110grs of BH209 like you did.

Thanks... Rob

I would also like to know your group size as I am considering using that bullet in my .50 DISC Elite this year for whitetail. The 200 gr version out of my .45 DISC Elite is deadly.

jsteurrys

I am shooting the 277's with 120 grains of T7 or 120 Grains of BH from my MHC and the DISC Elite.

I am getting groups just a bit over an 1 1/4". I think I can actually do better but have not shot them near as much as I shoot the DISC 45's.

I really think the Lehigh like the velocity for accuracy

120 T7-2f ave. 1950 fps
120 BH-209 ave. 2025 fps

Truth be known... I am quite happy with 1 1/4" for hunting purposes...
