Thanks Sabot for posting the pics. Ok, there are a few hogs in the pic. There was two other guys with me on the hunt so I didn't do all the slaying by myself, but it was a blast on what I did do. These pics were from the first night, we shot 8 hogs that night. It did take us a while to clean them all too!!
As far as my load, I had been shooting a 100 grains of BH 209 with the TMZ's and the group was just a little over an inch with the gun the first range session out. I know I could get it better but just didn't have the time on that occassion, it was very cold and windy that weekend in Missouri, but I was still very impressed for the first time that the gun had been shot. I then got to talking to Sabotloader and GM 120 and thought I would try the Lehigh 275 grainer. I really liked the way the bullet looked but was a little unsure of how well it would fly out to 250 yards so I upped my powder charge to 110 grains of powder and was getting about 1 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at a 120 yards. Not by no means great but good enough for me to shoot at hogs. I did not even try the 100 grain charge but I'm planning on playing with the powder a little to find that sweet spot. I was also using CCI primers and plan on trying some Winchesters also. I will say this, those bullets outperformed by greatest expectation of them. I didn't take any pics of the internal "MESS" these bullets caused, but let me tell you, they performed. I really liked my 290 grain TMZ's for the energy and the way they flew at 200 yards, but I think that I will get just as good of results with the Lehighs!! I'm SOLD!!!!!

Awesome story and pics!!! Wow, that's a lot of pork. Congrats on the nice harvest. Were the other guys you were with shooting muzzy's too, or were they using rifles? I had a very good experience with the 185 grain Lehigh this year- I'm sure the 275 grainers work even better.

Onetohunt, you killing me here. How dare you go hunting with a load that won't do any better than that!
Honestly, all of those one hole groups we see posted and strive for are fun to pursue and even more fun to achieve once in a while. But I can tell you it's sure not the norm (at least not for me). As far as I'm concerned, anything under three inches at 100 yards is an acceptable hunting load, and under two inches is a mighty fine hunting load.

You aready know that I really think the 275 is probably the best all-around bullet of the bunch, but I am not sure that you know that Dave is offering a new bullet, a .458/300 grain designed for ML's.
If you have been shooting the Barnes 290 and like the energy it carries you might take a hard look at this new one....

They do not shoot to bad either!

Just one question please. I see the data posted here is for Knight rifles. Are these LeHigh bullets just for Knights or can they be used in other rifles? They sound interesting but I shoot an Accura and don't know if they will work or not. Thanks

They can be used in all Muzzleloaders.
