The odd part the left leg was broken completely away at the ball and socket joint. When he would run the leg just flopped around and around almost like a propeller. When he would walk it would fling out to the left and just drag along. 3 of watched this with so much amazement... it took a bit of time before Shawn extracted and loaded another round and shot him again.

So like you I was thinking it could be a dragging front leg.... Hope Ron finds it this morning.
Yea me too, i hope he gets a shot on it,hey this what i am writing on here is the truth.Onetime with my 30.06 loaded with a Sierra 165 gr HPBT with 54.4 grains of IMR 4350 powder,Shot a little 7 point in the shoulder figured it would have dropped, but it ran about 15 yards right into a big tree head on.Blew both Horns right off the skull.

I know there is a lot of folks out there that try to 'anchor' animal but shooting the shoulders out - so it is not uncommon. If were into that I do not think I would use a lead copper bullet unless it was a Nosler or the lead/copper bullet was bonded.... Well shoot after saying that I know a guy that does it all the time with a solid lead bullet - but it is a 460 grain conical. When that thing hits a deer in the shoulder bone it really pushes them sideways and to their knees.

When I shoot a normal lead/copper bullet and I am shooting the shoulder area - I am going in behind the shoulder.... ribs are not as hard.

You know the pruning shears in the pack is a great idea I never thought of, I have places with the same problems with red bush and thorns like BPs facing and always come home bloody picking thorns from my hands and arms.. Going upstate tommorow and will have pruners with me..

Pruning Shears - don't leave home without them. (Get the kind that come with a belt holster.)

I know Snow and all we could'nt connect. But (I) did'nt Miss My 2 other Buddies did, one hit a Locust Tree and the other flat out missed (Buck Fever) But the Buck was also in the Thickest stuff Imangineable, he would'nt leave it, he just kept circling, only 2 times did he get into stuff where it was still Thick but you could still get a shot off. When I was close in the Thick Stuff I was either on My Knees or Crawling and I could'nt get the MLer up for a shot, evev if I could have Im sure it would have deflected off the Brush.
Wounded Bucks are Amazing and can do things that you would'nt think, and go through, over and under stuff like it was'nt there. He should have been Dead Twice. I only saw glimpses of his rack, My Buddies said he was BIG. Were going back in after Him Tommorow with 2 more Guy's.
The Piece of Thick Stuff He was in is about a Mile Long by a Half Mile Wide, and Im Talking Thick, like I said befor if you died in there they'd find you standing up because you could'nt fall over, if they'd even ever find you. The Place was full of Red Brush, Wild Rose, Fallen Down Trees, Blow Downs, Deep Creeks, Swampy Area's, the Stuff Big Buck's Love to Hide in.
Am I Dissapointed, YES, after all I went through to get Him to go by 2 of My Buddies and both missed! Oh I Posted a New Thread, Titled (Breechplug's 2010 Late Season MLer Buck) Pics posted By Sabotloader! Thank's Mike!
