You know i was wondering about a broken front leg at the shoulder also. One time elk hunting a friend of mine shot a big 6x6 Bull in rut. He shot it right in the top of the front shoulder with an 06. I was watching through glasses saw the hit then all of us watched the next part with amazement. The big bull showed no sign of being hit -
none - he just kept chasing cows around in the Meadow. The odd part the left leg was broken completely away at the ball and socket joint. When he would run the leg just flopped around and around almost like a propeller. When he would walk it would fling out to the left and just drag along. 3 of watched this with so much amazement... it took a bit of time before Shawn extracted and loaded another round and shot him again.
So like you I was thinking it could be a dragging front leg.... Hope Ron finds it this morning.
Yea me too, i hope he gets a shot on it,hey this what i am writing on here is the truth.Onetime with my 30.06 loaded with a Sierra 165 gr HPBT with 54.4 grains of IMR 4350 powder,Shot a little 7 point in the shoulder figured it would have dropped,but it ran about 15 yards right into a big tree head on.Blew both Horns right off the skull.
