I was wondering has anyone ever had problems with new cva sights.
could be I am not using to right powder charge or grain bullet?
I am using 2 50 grain 777 with powerbelt 295 grain.
I just don't understand why I am having such a problem.
with the sight in.

It really could be something other than the sights....

What kind of group do you get at 25 yards?

And I should ask even though you are high at 50 yards - can you shoot a decent group? Or is it all over the place?

I also must confess I have not read this whole thread so know that information also - I am just kinda jumping in...

Just curious but how well do you shoot your other muzzle loaders - rifles with open sights?

Even with open sights, at 25 yards you should have them into a .50cal hole.

At 25 yards they should be hitting the point of aim - you do not want them high there either. If you can not get them down at 25 really no use going to 50...

When you are sighting how are you shooting? I am assuming off a bench with front and rear gun rests? Then one other thing where are you placing the the front rest? The further you go forward the more chance you have of moving you point of impact.

Another thing to check... when you lock your break action up - is it tight - barrel does not wiggle at all - no movement up or down nor left or right...

Is you rear adjustable sight ran down as close to the barrel as it will go? If so you might have to get a taller front sight. If you do that do not go with the CVA sights get some real ones from Williams.

Anyway more questions for you...
