thats actually a good load, I tried it a few times for fun back when I shot sidelocks and the 2 balls always hit right on top of each other. I dont think its dangerous becasue two rnd balls only wieghs 350grs , less than some conicals . wish i could use that load to hunt w/ in NY, it be devastaing on deer.

Those were some horrible pics. Does anyone know the model and make of that rifle?
Here are some more tragic occurances:

Outdoors Vermont: Maine hunter death an accident
Not a death but potentially a problem. Left ram rod in barrel. No way to know for sure but I suspect the rod was directly touching the bullet which is a good thing. Had the rod been separated by a space from the bullet, barrel would have likely burst:

Here is why primers and caps should never be on one's muzzleloader in a vehicle:

Safety should one's highest priority. This article discusses some safety issues ... some unrelated unrelated to muzzleloading but applicable to hunting.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone but an unintentional occurance does not qualify as an accident if it could be prevented by safe hunting ethics. In the link below a man is killed at the hands of his friend while hunting. Did the one discharging his firearm have a proper backdrop? Did he take a "sound shot"? I'd bet he violated safe hunting ethics in some way.
