Congrats on the hog. I'd love a chance to hunt those critters. Maybe if we had those devils up here the farmers would be more accommodating towards hunters.

I have 2 daughters; spend time with them now cause they will be grown before you know it. Mine are 22 and 28 years old now.Congratulation on the nice hog. You have a beautiful daughter and I bet spending time with her while hunting was pretty special.

I did a 12 month unaccompanied tour on Oki Dec 1996 - Dec 1997, Camp Courtney and Camp Foster. It was my first duty station after MP school. It was a continuous party, interrupted once in a awhile for work! It was a great time. I wish I'd have asked to extend there instead of going to Camp Lejeune. That place sucks. How long have you been in?

You'd think they would. But more than likely they'd be like the farmers down here and charge people several hundred dollars to hunt them.

Yeah, I tried to extend there also but I put in my papers too late. Lesson learned. I was on Camp Hansen back in 1999 working at the only Armory that provides 3rd-4th Echlon maintenance to the whole island. Very, very busy. I've been in going on 11 years now and as luck would have it, I'm going back to the same Armory. I'm pumped about it because of the amount of weapons we get to deal with. Everything from rifles to machine guns to mortars to SMAW's. We see it all. In my opinion, it's the best Armory in the Corps for gaining diverse technical experience in my MOS. And there's also 20+ Marines in that Armory so it will be a great experience from a leadership standpoint.

To think that I'd been in for two years before your enlisted, but I did 4 and out. I almost can't fathom that if I'd have stayed in I'd have 14 years in in March and I'd probably be a Gunny or MSgt. I doubt my body would have held out that long, though. 4 years took its toll on me.
