Yep, in the really fun one Viet Nam - yuk!.... but the information comes from the my History background and a lot of folks in the family that were in all the different branches - but the Navy remains the best.
I have spent a lot time around the military also as some of my best friends are military mostly ground pounders...

When were you on board? It seems to me we operated with the Essex at one point - do not think it was in Nam but maybe on exercises outside of Pearl. What was the hull number?
