CVA Kodiak?
#2
Kent a lot of people use or own a Kodiak. I am guessing you have a chance to get one and want to know if it is worth the money. From all I read, they are good shooters. CVA is a good company. With the right optics you would have a 150 yard rifle with a good sabot load. I am sure a few of the current or past owners will pick this up and help you out.

I have 2, a Kodiak mag and a Kodiak Pro, the only difference between the 2 is the pro has a fluted barrel. I like em both, and they bothe shoot pretty much the same. The only draw back to them is the (trigger-mech) is connected to the barrel, but it never bothered me during cleaning. You can remove the (pin) and take the trigger-mech off the barrel, but I never had to. Also never never ever try and take apart the trigger mech to try and clean, as you'll be sending it back to CVA to put back togeather. Both of my Kodiak's like shooting the Hornaday.452 45cal 240gr XTP Mag, I also use 150gr. of Pyrodox Pellets in them with no problems. Their both very accurate and I have had no problems with them at all.

I realize you are asking about the Kodiak, but two of my nephews have CVA optimas any they really like them. It also sounds like the new CVA Accura should be a good gun. I guess what I am trying to say is handle a few other guns and see which one feels most comfortable for you and has the features you want or need. I realize price also has to be considered, but it looks like most of CVA's products are fair priced. Okay I hope I was some help. If not the other guys on this forum should be.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, CVA is doing away with the Kodiak, or done away with it. The only ones left for sale are the one's out there still for sale. As MountianDeavil said, check out the ACCURA, at least the BL/BK model. Cabela's has em on sale for I think $269, the Kodiak's are only about $10 less, and you get a way better ML and more with the ACCURA.
